📖 Travel Diary

Arriving in New Zealand felt like stepping into a fantasy movie. Everywhere I looked there were mountains, green hills and lakes.

I visited Queenstown first, where I saw some of the most beautiful landscapes I had ever seen. The air felt fresh and the nature looked untouched.

Later, I explored Hobbiton, the famous movie set from The Lord of the Rings. Walking through the small green hills felt magical.

One evening, I watched the sunset near the mountains while everything became silent. It was one of the most peaceful moments of my trip.

Hobbiton Movie Set – A famous filming location from “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” films, where visitors can explore the charming Hobbit village in Matamata.
Milford Sound – A breathtaking fjord in Fiordland National Park, known for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and stunning natural scenery.
Queenstown – A popular adventure city surrounded by mountains and lakes, famous for activities like bungee jumping, skiing, and hiking.
Mount Cook National Park – Home to New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki / Mount Cook, offering glaciers, alpine views, and hiking trails.

📜 Historical Facts

The Māori were the first inhabitants – The Māori people settled in New Zealand around 1250–1300 AD and developed a rich cultural heritage and traditions.
British settlers arrived in the 1800s – European settlement began in the 19th century, significantly shaping the country’s modern history.
The Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840 – This important agreement between Māori chiefs and the British Crown is considered the founding document of New Zealand.
First to give women voting rights – New Zealand became the first self-governing country to grant women the right to vote in 1893.
