📖 Travel Diary

When I arrived in Japan, everything felt completely different from home. The lights, the speed of the city, and the silence of the temples all felt unreal.

In Tokyo, I walked through Shibuya Crossing. It was full of people from every direction. I felt small, but also excited to be part of it.

Later, I visited Kyoto. The atmosphere changed completely—quiet streets, old temples, and red gates everywhere. It felt peaceful and timeless.

The most beautiful moment was seeing Mount Fuji in the distance. It looked like a painting and I stood there for a long time just watching it.

🏯 Tourist Attractions

Mount Fuji – Japan’s tallest mountain and one of its most iconic landmarks. Many visitors hike it during summer or enjoy scenic views from nearby lakes and hot springs.
Fushimi Inari Shrine – A famous shrine in Kyoto known for its thousands of bright red torii gates that create beautiful walking paths through the forested hills.
Shibuya Crossing – Located in Tokyo, this world-famous intersection is known for its massive crowds, bright neon lights, and energetic city atmosphere.
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest – A peaceful bamboo grove in Kyoto where towering bamboo stalks line the pathways, creating a calm and scenic experience for visitors.

📜 Historical Facts

Samurai were powerful warriors – Samurai were highly skilled fighters who served Japanese lords for centuries. They followed a strict code of honor known as Bushido.
The Edo period brought peace – From 1603 to 1868, Japan experienced a long era of stability and economic growth under the Tokugawa shogunate, with limited foreign contact.
Japan modernized after 1868 – During the Meiji Restoration, Japan rapidly industrialized and adopted modern technology, education, and government systems from the West.
Hiroshima & Nagasaki in 1945 – These two cities were devastated by atomic bombs during World War II, leading to Japan’s surrender and the end of the war.

🎌 Holidays

Hanami (Cherry Blossom Festival) – A traditional spring celebration where people gather under blooming cherry trees to enjoy picnics and admire the flowers. It symbolizes the beauty and short-lived nature of life.
Obon Festival – A Buddhist tradition held in summer to honor ancestors. Families return to their hometowns, visit graves, and take part in dances called Bon Odori to welcome spirits of the deceased.

🌋 Landscape

Japan has a diverse natural landscape made up of mountains, volcanoes, dense forests, and coastal areas. It is a very mountainous country, with iconic peaks like Mount Fuji, and it also has thousands of islands. At the same time, Japan is home to some of the world’s most advanced and densely populated cities, creating a unique contrast between nature and modern urban life.

🎎 Culture

Respect and manners are very important – Politeness, bowing, and respectful behavior are central parts of daily life in Japan, influencing both social and professional interactions.
Traditional tea ceremonies – The Japanese tea ceremony is a cultural practice focused on harmony, respect, purity, and mindfulness, often performed in a calm, ritualized setting.
Anime and manga culture – Japan is famous worldwide for its animated films and comics, which have become a major part of both entertainment and modern pop culture.
Mix of old and modern traditions – Japan uniquely blends ancient customs, temples, and festivals with cutting-edge technology, fashion, and urban lifestyles.
