📖 Travel Diary

Iceland felt completely different from every other country I visited. The cold air, giant waterfalls and dark volcanic landscapes looked unreal.

I visited Reykjavik first, where the city felt calm and peaceful. Even at night, everything felt quiet compared to other capitals.

Later, I explored glaciers and black sand beaches. Seeing ice and volcanoes in the same country was incredible.

The best moment was seeing the Northern Lights in the sky. The green lights moved slowly above the mountains and it felt magical.

Blue Lagoon – A famous geothermal spa known for its milky-blue waters, rich in minerals, where visitors relax in naturally heated pools surrounded by lava fields.

Reykjavik – The capital city of Iceland, known for its colorful buildings, cultural landmarks, and vibrant arts and music scene.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon – A stunning glacial lake filled with floating icebergs that break off from a nearby glacier and drift toward the ocean.

📜 Historical Facts

Settled by Vikings in the 9th century – Norse explorers from Scandinavia were the first permanent settlers of Iceland.
One of the oldest parliaments in the world – The Althing, established in 930 AD, is considered one of the earliest parliamentary institutions still in existence.
Became independent in 1944 – Iceland gained full independence from Denmark during World War II and became a republic.
